It has been a great semester, had a lot of fun in our class I hope all of you do well next semester. Be safe & God bless!
Rashad Johnson is far from your average junior in college. He has a passion in music production. His talent has coined him a new name “Frankenstein” . He grew up looking up to his father who dj’s on weekends. Having a strong background in music is what drove him to become a producer.
In reality breaking into the music industry is as difficult as winning the lottery. Music downloads taking away from industry revenue has lead to record labels being less likely to take chances on up & coming artists total industry sales were about 10 billion last year, a big drop from 14 billion just in 2007, according to the Recording Industry Association of America. Besides illegal downloads ITunes has attributed to this as well. Today one can just buy certain songs they like off an album instead of purchasing the whole thing
Although the chance of making it big is against him Frankenstein still believes he has a shot. His drive for success and wanting to make his father proud is what fuel him. Will he make it big in the music industry? Only time will tell.
I learned from video journalism class that if you have powerful enough video the need for a narrative isn’t necessary. My thoughts on the UC Davis video are that the officers were out of line. This was a peaceful protest and for students to be treated this way is sickening. The video I posted is an example police brutality. A elderly woman waited till she got to a well traveled are before pulling over for the officers. when she stops he pulls out a gun on her then body slams the woman to the ground. Excessive force was not needed at all. This video was on youtube than used on a show on tru tv. I think the fast easy access to see news makes traditional news programs less relevant. One can get current news online without waiting for the 6 o’clock news.
In my opinion the officer was out of line. however the video just begins with the spraying of the protesters. I was curious as to how long they were their and how many times they were told to leave. if they had many chances to disburse maybe i would side with the police. my question is how many times are authorities to tell you to leave before they should take action?
This video is appalling to me. So many questions run through my mind, when watching this video. What did these students do? Who gave the cops the order to spray all of these students? Did these police have a conscious? Being a college student myself and a participant for a change of the Wall street movement I want to share this video with the world, So you can see the brutality and insanity happening across the world. Wake up, something has got to change.
Making an Omelette
This is my how to video on how to make the perfect brekfast omeltte. I orignially was going to do a dance how to but decided on a more serious type of video. I give insight on the proper prepartion one must take in order to succesfully make an omelette. I had a good time using final cut to edit. With this experience I’m certain my next project usinf Final Cut will be even better. Enjoy!
I chose this story from ABC news on Steve Jobs. The reason is because he was a great visionary and I respect the things he’s done for society as a whole. The editing was done well with pictures and old video clips of Job’s talking. It was overall a good multimedia piece.
after watching the videos on Final Cut Pro I was pretty relieved. I got so used to Imovie that I was nervous this would be more difficult. I’ve seen that’s not the case at all for Final Cut Pro it is just as easy to learn as any other video editing program. the more I go on and do my own editing I know it will become second nature to me in no time. I must say the picture quality of videos on here are great. Also the new features are cool and easy to use. I know that my upcoming projects using this program will be much better than the past ones I have done.

Professor I’m trying to find the link to Darshani’s video on parking, so I can put it on thedirtjc.
This video was shot by a citizen journalist named insurgencyusa
It is the complete picture of a speech given by a leader of the protest regarding signs. I think it help their cause b/c they have a right to make the protest signs regardless if police want them to take them done.
